Murad Saeed Resurfaces After Long Absence, Makes Major Revelations in First Interview

Lahore: Senior Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader and former federal minister Murad Saeed has reappeared in public after a long period of disappearance, making several significant claims in his first interview.
Speaking to former accountability adviser Shahzad Akbar, Murad Saeed said that after the Islamabad Judicial Complex incident, he went to Gilgit-Baltistan with Khalid Khurshid, where he stayed for some time before moving to Lahore’s Zaman Park.
He claimed that PTI Chairman Imran Khan had arranged accommodation for him at Zaman Park and instructed him strictly to remain out of public view. He added that party security personnel were also directed not to allow him to meet workers or appear in public gatherings.
Murad Saeed further stated that before Imran Khan’s arrest on August 5, he was advised to leave the country if possible, as his life was under threat. He also said he was warned to use social media cautiously and avoid unnecessary public communication.
He claimed that after Imran Khan’s arrest, he was instructed not to react emotionally and to wait for a planned protest movement leading up to elections. According to him, he tried to rejoin the public after the elections but was repeatedly advised through messages and posts to stay away.
The PTI leader alleged that the events of May 9 were part of a conspiracy and linked it to what he described as a “London Plan,” aimed at destabilizing the PTI government. He further claimed that there were wider international and political motives behind the situation, including foreign policy shifts and regional developments.
Murad Saeed also criticized the current political system, calling it a “fake setup,” and questioned the legitimacy of parliamentary decisions. He said that political reforms are necessary and claimed that Pakistan is currently operating under a “hybrid system.”
His remarks have sparked renewed political debate, though no official response has yet been issued by the government regarding his statements.
