US CENTCOM Claims It Prevented Blockade Violation in Gulf of Oman

United States Central Command claimed that American forces thwarted an attempt to violate a naval blockade in the Gulf of Oman.
In a statement, CENTCOM said US forces opened fire on an Iranian oil tanker after it allegedly ignored warnings and attempted to proceed toward an Iranian port.
According to the statement, the vessel was stopped and prevented from reaching its destination. CENTCOM further claimed that the blockade against ships traveling to and from Iranian ports is being fully enforced.
The development comes amid heightened tensions involving Iran and the United States in strategically important regional waters.
