3-Year-Old Girl Seriously Injured in Lion Cub Attack During Photo Session in Cairo Circus

Islamabad (Khyber Desk) – A 3-year-old girl was seriously injured after being attacked by a lion cub during a souvenir photo session at the National Circus in the Giza area of Cairo, Egypt.
According to media reports, the incident took place at the Artistic House for Folk and Performing Arts, commonly known as the National Circus, shortly after the conclusion of a theatrical performance.
Preliminary findings suggest that the child’s father had visited the circus with his family to attend the show. After the event, the family arranged a photo session with a photographer to take commemorative pictures of the child with a lion cub. However, during the session, the animal suddenly attacked the girl, striking her on the face and head with its paws.
The child suffered severe injuries and briefly lost consciousness. She was immediately rushed to Agouza General Hospital, where she is receiving emergency medical treatment.
Following the incident, the family filed a formal complaint, prompting the Public Prosecution to launch a full investigation. A team visited the site, collected evidence, and recorded statements from eyewitnesses, the photographer, and circus management.
