Pashtunkhwa Milli Awami Party Raises Concerns Over Alleged Illegal Detentions, Urges Action

QUETTA (Web Desk) – The Pashtunkhwa Milli Awami Party has expressed serious concern over alleged illegal detentions in Balochistan, questioning the provincial government’s silence on what it termed violations of citizens’ fundamental rights.
In a press release, the party stated that detaining any individual without legal justification is a clear violation of the Constitution and law, as well as an inhumane and condemnable act. It cited the case of two residents of Toba Achakzai—Naeemat, son of Mahmood, and Sahib Khan, son of Hanafiya—who were allegedly picked up and kept in unlawful custody.
According to the statement, the individuals were taken on April 24 from the Manza Manakzai area in Tehsil Dobandi, allegedly by security personnel, and later shifted to FC Headquarters before being handed over to authorities. The incident was reported to the Deputy Commissioner of Qila Abdullah, but the individuals have not yet been released, causing concern among their families and local residents.
The party emphasized that holding individuals without due process or proven charges constitutes a serious violation of human rights. It added that the Constitution guarantees every citizen the right to liberty, dignity, and fair legal process, and ignoring these principles undermines the credibility of the justice system.
The statement warned that such actions can create fear, unrest, and mistrust in society, which are harmful to any civilized state. It called on all state institutions to operate strictly within constitutional and legal limits while respecting citizens’ fundamental rights.
The party urged the Governor, Chief Minister, Inspector General of Frontier Corps, Director of the Federal Investigation Agency, and the Deputy Commissioner to take immediate notice of the alleged illegal detentions and ensure transparent action against those responsible to uphold the rule of law.
