Teen Girl Allegedly Murders Mother in Jharkhand Over Money, Boyfriend Arrested

A shocking case of greed and brutality has emerged from the Indian state of Jharkhand, where a 17-year-old girl allegedly murdered her own mother with the help of her boyfriend and his accomplices.

According to Indian media reports, the victim, Nahida Parveen, had received ₹4.5 million after the death of her husband, who worked in the electricity department. The adopted daughter was the sole nominee for the funds and lived with her mother.

Police investigations revealed that the girl frequently withdrew money from the bank and gave it to her 20-year-old boyfriend, Arbaz Khan. When her mother objected and refused further financial support, tensions escalated between them.

Authorities say the teenager, along with her boyfriend and his friends, plotted the murder to gain control of the money, property, and a potential government job linked to her late father’s position.

On the night of April 24, while the victim was asleep, the suspects allegedly attacked her. Reports suggest the girl promised ₹1.2 million for carrying out the crime. One attacker reportedly suffocated the victim with a pillow while others restrained her. During the struggle, she sustained a fatal neck injury.

The body was later hidden in a deep freezer, and blood-stained bedding was disposed of near the house. The next morning, the girl informed relatives that her mother had died after slipping in the bathroom, and the victim was buried the following day.

Suspicion arose among relatives after they noticed injury marks on the victim’s neck. A formal complaint was later filed by the victim’s brother-in-law, prompting police to exhume the body for a post-mortem examination.

According to City SP Paras Rana, the girl has confessed to the crime while in custody. Police have arrested Arbaz Khan from Gaya, and a search operation is underway to apprehend other suspects involved in the case.

The investigation remains ongoing.
