Karachi Expected to Sizzle at 38°C as Heatwave Concerns Rise

KARACHI: The Karachi is expected to experience high temperatures today, with the Meteorological Department warning that the mercury could rise up to 38°C.

According to the forecast, the minimum temperature recorded last night was 27°C, while today’s maximum temperature may reach 38°C. The department also reported that humidity levels stand at around 78%, adding to the discomfort for residents. Southwesterly winds are blowing at a speed of 19 km/h.

Health experts have advised citizens to take precautionary measures amid the rising heat, warning that hot weather increases the risk of infections and heat-related illnesses.

They recommended that people avoid street food and uncovered beverages during extreme heat conditions. Citizens are also advised to wear light-colored and loose clothing, cover their heads when going outdoors, and drink boiled or clean water to prevent waterborne diseases.

Doctors further suggested maintaining skin hygiene during excessive sweating to avoid rashes and allergies. Washing the face with cool water and using a light moisturizer can help protect the skin from dryness and irritation during hot weather conditions.
