Pashtunkhwa Milli Awami Party Protests Over Law and Order, Education, and Power Crisis in Chaman

Chaman: Pashtunkhwa Milli Awami Party (PkMAP) staged a protest rally in Chaman, condemning what it described as a complete breakdown of law and order and administrative failure in the district.
The protest, led by district acting secretary Haji Jamal Achakzai, highlighted multiple issues, including the closure of 25 government schools, the deteriorating condition of dozens of others, shortage of free textbooks, and the alleged presence of teachers with fake degrees. Demonstrators also raised concerns over alleged nepotism in recent contractual hiring.
Participants marched through various ښار roads before concluding the rally at Taj Road, where party leaders addressed the crowd. Speakers, including Karim Khan, Sher Ali Khan, Zarif Khan, and others, criticized the administration for failing to maintain security and basic governance, stating that the situation in Chaman had “completely collapsed.”
The leaders also strongly opposed the merger of the Levies force into police, calling it a failed and anti-public decision, and demanded restoration of the previous Levies system.
Protesters further criticized prolonged trade disruptions along the Durand Line, saying economic activity had already been severely affected for years. They added that unannounced and prolonged load-shedding by Quetta Electric Supply Company (QESCO) had made daily life extremely difficult for residents.
Speakers accused authorities of unjust actions against citizens, including registering FIRs, arrests, and power disconnections. They also condemned alleged harassment of locals under the pretext of actions against Afghan refugees.
The party expressed serious concern over the state of education in the area, calling for immediate action against those responsible for mismanagement and irregularities in the education sector.
PkMAP leaders warned that if the issues were not addressed promptly, the scope of protests would be expanded. They demanded restoration of free trade along the Durand Line, easing of cross-border movement through identity documents, revival of the education system, reinstatement of the Levies force, and immediate resumption of the Chaman train service.
The protest concluded with a warning of strong public reaction if the الحكومة fails to take urgent corrective measures.
