Dangerous Overloading in Quetta School Vans Raises Safety Concerns

Quetta (Daily Kudrat) – Alarming levels of overloading in school vans and Suzuki vehicles used for transporting children in Quetta have sparked serious safety concerns among parents and citizens.
According to reports, schoolchildren are being packed far beyond vehicle capacity, with some forced to hang from doors and the rear of vehicles—posing a high risk of a fatal accident at any moment. The lack of basic safety measures has further intensified fears.
Parents have expressed deep concern, stating that many drivers, in pursuit of a few extra fares, are putting innocent lives at risk. Witnesses report that small vans and Suzuki pickups often carry double their capacity, turning daily commutes into dangerous journeys.
Citizens have criticized the apparent inaction of the district administration, traffic police, and the transport department, accusing them of remaining silent despite the visible risks.
Public circles have urged the Deputy Commissioner, traffic authorities, and the transport department to take immediate action against violators, impose heavy fines on overloading, and ensure safe transportation for schoolchildren before a major tragedy occurs.
