Govt Announces Timely Salary Disbursement Ahead of Three-Day Holiday for Labour Day

ISLAMABAD: The government has ordered the early disbursement of salaries to public sector employees ahead of a three-day holiday period across the country on the occasion of Labour Day.
According to an official notification issued by the Punjab Finance Department, salaries for government employees will be paid on April 30 to ensure timely payments before the holidays.
The decision comes as May 1 (Friday) will be observed as Labour Day, followed by the weekend holidays on May 2 (Saturday) and May 3 (Sunday), resulting in three consecutive days off.
Officials stated that the move is aimed at facilitating employees so they can manage their financial needs without inconvenience during the extended تعطیلات period.
The government has confirmed that May 1 will be observed as a public holiday nationwide in 2026 in connection with Labour Day.
