National Karate Champion Arzo Haider Dies After Accident on Quetta Road

QUETTA: National karate player Arzo Haider Ali has passed away after sustaining critical injuries in a road accident on Spinny Road, Quetta, reportedly caused by construction debris, officials and sources confirmed.
According to reports, Arzo Haider Ali, who recently won gold and silver medals in the National Games, was traveling on a scooter with a fellow athlete from Hazara Town to Ayub Stadium to participate in a karate championship when the accident occurred near the CPEC Chowk area.
Sources said the scooter slipped due to construction material lying on the road, causing both riders to fall. Arzo Haider sustained severe injuries after hitting the pavement and was immediately shifted to a private hospital, where she remained in the ICU for two days before passing away on Wednesday morning.
Her death has sparked grief across the sports community. Officials from the sports department, including the Secretary Sports and Director General Sports Balochistan, expressed deep sorrow over her demise, calling it a tragic loss for the province’s sporting talent.
Arzo Haider Ali had recently brought pride to Balochistan and Pakistan by securing gold and silver medals in national-level competitions, and was regarded as an emerging star in martial arts.
Authorities and sports officials described her untimely death as a major loss for the country’s sports community and extended condolences to her family.
