Efforts Intensify for Release of Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi, Says Barrister Gohar

Rawalpindi: Chairman of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), Barrister Gohar Ali Khan, has stated that efforts to secure the release of PTI founder Imran Khan and his wife Bushra Bibi have been accelerated.
Speaking to the media in Rawalpindi, Gohar Ali Khan highlighted concerns over Bushra Bibi’s health, noting that she is unwell following a recent surgery. He urged authorities to ensure her early release and proper medical treatment, adding that she should be shifted to a hospital until her full recovery. He also called for allowing family members and legal counsel to meet Imran Khan.
Addressing party matters, Gohar said that Mahmood Khan Achakzai has been entrusted with key responsibilities by Imran Khan, and the party will follow his decisions. He added that any reservations or concerns from Achakzai would be addressed, while noting that discussions regarding his absence from the Mardan rally have not yet taken place.
Gohar further revealed that he recently met Sohail Afridi, but declined to share details of the meeting. He also mentioned that he visits Adiala Jail every Tuesday in compliance with the directives of the Islamabad High Court.
Commenting on broader national and international developments, Gohar praised Pakistan’s diplomatic achievements, stating that only adversaries of the country would be displeased by them. He expressed hope that visits by key global figures to Pakistan would contribute to peace and stability in the region.
He concluded by reiterating his desire to see Pakistan progress and gain greater respect on the global stage.
