KP CM’s Discretionary Fund Increased by Millions, Revealed in Official Documents

PESHAWAR:In a significant development, the **Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa** has seen a major increase in the **discretionary fund** for the upcoming fiscal year. Official documents reveal that the discretionary fund for the **next financial year** has been set at **50 crore rupees**, a substantial hike compared to the **5 crore rupees** allocated for the current year.
The documents also highlight that, despite the allocated budget of **5 crore rupees** for the discretionary fund, the **Chief Minister** has already **spent a total of 50 crore rupees** in the current financial year.
Additionally, the documents shed light on the spending in other categories such as **gifts and entertainment**, where **11 crore rupees** were spent. For the current fiscal year, only **3.5 crore rupees** were allocated for these expenses. In the **upcoming financial year**, the budget for **gifts and entertainment** has been estimated at **3.85 crore rupees**.
Furthermore, the document reveals that the **secret fund charges** for the current fiscal year saw an increase of **15 crore rupees**, bringing the total spent to **5 crore rupees** in this category, a substantial rise from the allocated budget.
These expenditures have raised concerns about the management and transparency of public funds, particularly when it comes to discretionary spending by high-ranking officials.
