Grand Operation Launched Against Illegal Afghan Migrants in Khanozai, Over 100 Houses Demolished

Quetta: Authorities have launched a large-scale operation against undocumented Afghan migrants in Khanozai tehsil of Balochistan following the expiry of a 24-hour deadline given for voluntary evacuation.
The joint operation, carried out on directives of federal and provincial governments, is being led by Inayat Kakar. Soon after the deadline ended, law enforcement agencies moved in with heavy machinery and bulldozers, demolishing more than 100 illegally constructed houses.
According to an official report, around 60,000 Afghan migrants are currently residing in the Karezat area, with a majority lacking valid legal documentation. Officials stated that the demolition of illegal structures is ongoing under strict supervision.
Authorities have issued a clear warning that undocumented migrants should return voluntarily to Afghanistan to avoid further action. Otherwise, large-scale operations including arrests and deportations will be carried out by police and district administration.
Officials reiterated that the crackdown is part of broader efforts to enforce immigration laws and maintain order in the region.
