Pashtunkhwa National Awami Party Condemns Fatal Shooting of Hafiz Ahmed Khan by Coast Guard in Othal

Quetta (Daily Qudrat): The Pashtunkhwa National Awami Party (PNAP) has strongly condemned the tragic death of Hafiz Ahmed Khan Mehtarzai, son of former provincial assembly candidate Master Khan Muhammad Kakak, who was killed in Othal due to unprovoked firing and stone-throwing by Coast Guard personnel.
In an official statement from the party’s provincial secretariat, PNAP criticized the lawlessness of certain state institutions, saying that innocent civilians are often paying the price for unchecked authority. The statement noted that unprovoked attacks on passenger vehicles by Coast Guard officials in Othal are not new, yet previous incidents have gone unpunished, leading to loss of innocent lives and life-altering injuries.
According to the statement, Hafiz Ahmed Khan was traveling from Quetta to Karachi when a Coast Guard team opened fire on one vehicle and threw stones at another. He was struck by a stone, resulting in his death.
PNAP demanded that a case be immediately registered against the responsible officials, that they be arrested, and that justice be served to prevent such incidents in the future. The party extended its heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family and prayed for the departed soul, reaffirming its solidarity with the family in this hour of grief.
