Islamabad High Court Restores Interim Bail of Dr. Fazeela Abbasi in Rs25 Billion Money Laundering Case

Islamabad: The Islamabad High Court has reinstated the interim bail of renowned dermatologist Dr. Fazeela Abbasi in an alleged Rs25 billion money laundering case, directing her to approach the trial court for further proceedings.
Justice Muhammad Azam Khan restored her interim bail against surety bonds of Rs100,000. Dr. Abbasi appeared before the court along with her counsel Naeem Bukhari, who argued that his client had appeared before the court three times and missed only one hearing due to medical reasons, for which a three-day medical certificate had been submitted. He contended that her bail was earlier revoked on this basis.
According to the FIR, Dr. Abbasi faces serious allegations of laundering billions of rupees. Authorities claim that approximately Rs25 billion were deposited into 22 bank accounts allegedly linked to her and later transferred to accounts in Dubai and the United States. Officials say the original sources of the funds have yet to be determined.
Meanwhile, Hamza Ali Abbasi, her brother, has distanced himself from the case, stating that he has no connection with the investigation. He emphasized that while he stands by his sister as family, her legal and professional matters are entirely separate from him.
The court has directed Dr. Abbasi to seek relief from the trial court as the case proceeds.
