Kubra Khan Says Unrealistic Beauty Standards Exclude Many Women

LAHORE: Pakistani actress Kubra Khan has spoken out against unrealistic beauty standards in society and the entertainment industry, saying that not every woman fits the narrowly defined ideals of beauty and that she herself does not conform to them.

In a recent interview, Kubra Khan said that Pakistani society often associates beauty with fair skin, being extremely slim, tall stature, and long hair, causing many women to feel inadequate when they do not meet these expectations.

She revealed that she too has experienced being judged according to these traditional standards, which affected her personally. However, she said she has now learned to embrace herself rather than measure her worth against standards set by others.

“I have learned to accept myself instead of judging myself by other people’s standards,” the actress said.

Kubra Khan emphasized that beauty should not be confined to a single definition and that women should not feel pressured to conform to societal expectations.

Commenting on criticism on social media, she said that while everyone has the right to express their opinions, no one has the right to use that freedom to mentally harm or humiliate others.

She stressed that respectful disagreement is acceptable, but personal attacks and online harassment should never be justified under the guise of expressing an opinion.
