U.S. Will Reopen Strait of Hormuz After Iran Conflict Regardless of Tehran’s Consent: Marco Rubio

Washington (Daily Qudrat News) – U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio stated that the Strait of Hormuz will be reopened after the conclusion of the ongoing conflict with Iran, whether or not Tehran consents, emphasizing that any attempt by Iran to block the vital waterway will have “serious consequences.”

In an interview with Qatari broadcaster Al Jazeera, Rubio said that diplomatic channels between the U.S. and Iran remain active, with indirect communications being conducted through various intermediaries. He highlighted that President Donald Trump prioritizes diplomacy and has consistently sought peaceful resolutions, noting that the situation could have been resolved earlier.

Rubio accused Iran of misusing its resources to support groups like Hezbollah, Hamas, and Shiite militias in Iraq while threatening neighboring countries unnecessarily. He stressed that Iran must never be allowed to acquire nuclear weapons and must halt its support for terrorism and the development of weapons that pose a threat to its neighbors.

Addressing Iran’s short-range missile program, Rubio said these weapons are specifically aimed at Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Kuwait, and Bahrain. He warned that Tehran’s pursuit of nuclear weapons is intended to blackmail the world, but the U.S. will prevent it at all costs.

Rubio concluded that U.S. objectives are clear and achievable within weeks rather than months, signaling a firm stance on regional security and the safeguarding of international maritime routes
