Flash Floods in UAE: Streets Turn into Ponds After Heavy Rain Across Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Ajman

Dubai: Heavy rains across the United Arab Emirates have caused severe flooding in multiple cities, including Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Ajman, and Ras Al Khaimah.

In Sharjah, streets resembled rivers as heavy rainfall was accompanied by hail. Residents stranded in flooded areas were rescued by police and emergency services and moved to safe locations.

Central areas of Abu Dhabi also experienced significant water accumulation, severely affecting traffic flow. In Dubai, water collected near the airport and major roads, prompting authorities to advise passengers to arrive three hours earlier than scheduled. Major highways, including Sheikh Zayed Road and routes to Abu Dhabi, remain open.

The meteorological department has forecasted more rainfall, with expectations of improvement starting Saturday. The UAE Department of Awqaf has advised residents to perform prayers at home due to the unsafe conditions caused by the floods.
