Digital Platforms Can Strengthen Government–Public Communication: Officials

Quetta: Imran Khan, Secretary of Information, said that the effective use of digital platforms can significantly strengthen communication between the government and the public. He made these remarks while chairing an important meeting of the Information Department Balochistan to review proposed amendments to the Digital Policy 2026.
The meeting was attended by Askar Khan, Director General of Directorate General Public Relations Balochistan, along with other relevant officials. Participants discussed various proposals aimed at promoting digital media, improving the effective communication of government policies, and updating the policy in line with modern requirements.
Officials emphasized that adopting modern digital tools and platforms could help enhance public awareness and ensure that government initiatives reach citizens more efficiently.
Speaking on the occasion, Secretary Information Imran Khan and DG Public Relations Askar Khan stated that the primary objective of implementing the Digital Policy 2026 is to communicate government policies and initiatives to the public in a modern and effective manner. They added that the policy also aims to create better employment opportunities for young people while encouraging them to engage in positive and productive activities.
They further noted that youth are a valuable asset for the country and equipping them with modern digital skills can not only help them secure respectable employment but also enable them to contribute positively to society’s development.
The meeting concluded with a commitment to make Digital Policy 2026 more comprehensive and effective according to contemporary needs in order to improve government performance, enhance public awareness, and expand opportunities for young people.
