UAE Claims Interception of Iranian Missiles and Drones Amid Rising Tensions

Dubai: The United Arab Emirates Ministry of Defence has claimed that its air defense systems successfully intercepted multiple missiles and drones launched from Iran into the country’s airspace.
According to defense officials, the UAE’s air defense systems destroyed **9 ballistic missiles and 109 drones** fired by Iran earlier today, while **three drones fell within Emirati territory**.
Authorities said a total of **112 drones were detected**, of which **109 were shot down in the air**, while **three crashed on UAE soil**.
The Ministry of Defence further stated that since the beginning of the Iranian attacks, **205 ballistic missiles** have been detected. Of these, **190 were intercepted and destroyed by Emirati defense systems**, **13 fell into the sea**, and **two landed within UAE territory**.
Officials also reported that **1,184 Iranian drones** have been identified so far. The UAE’s air defenses have **destroyed 1,110 drones**, while **74 drones fell inside the UAE**. In addition, **eight cruise missiles** were intercepted and destroyed.
According to the ministry, the attacks resulted in the **deaths of three individuals from Pakistan, Nepal, and Bangladesh**, while **112 people of various nationalities sustained minor injuries** during the incidents.
Authorities said security and defense forces remain on high alert as tensions in the region continue to escalate.
