Pak-Iran Tensions: Border Closure Sparks Economic Crisis in Makran and Rakhshan, Calls for Relief Package

**Quetta:** Senior National Party leader and Deputy Parliamentary Leader in the Balochistan Assembly, Mir Rehmat Saleh Baloch, has expressed serious concern over the economic hardships faced by Balochistan’s border districts amid escalating tensions between Iran, Israel, and the United States.

He stated that the economies of Makran and Rakhshan divisions rely heavily on cross-border trade with Iran. However, ongoing conflict and border closures over the past four days have left thousands of families without livelihoods. The disruption has affected petrol and diesel supplies and raised fears of shortages in essential goods and rising inflation. Mir Rehmat Saleh Baloch urged the government to immediately activate alternative supply lines to mitigate the crisis.

Meanwhile, he visited the Iranian consulate, offering prayers for Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei and conveying heartfelt condolences to the Consul General. He assured Iranian officials that the people of Balochistan stand in solidarity with their Iranian neighbors during this challenging time and expressed hope that the Iranian nation would overcome the crisis.

He also appealed to the federal and provincial governments to provide urgent financial assistance to small traders, laborers, and transporters dependent on border trade and to announce an emergency relief package to protect the public from a potential humanitarian and economic crisis.
