BSO Pajjar Raises Alarming Concerns Over Administrative Negligence at University of Turbat

Turbat: The University of Turbat unit of Baloch Students Organization (BSO) Pajjar has issued a strong-worded press release highlighting the growing challenges faced by students due to what they describe as the administration’s ongoing negligence and indifferent attitude.
The statement expressed serious concern over the worsening conditions on campus and warned of strong reactions if immediate corrective measures are not taken. According to the press release, students are enduring severe difficulties under extreme temperatures, with a complete lack of drinking water due to non-functional water coolers.
Other major issues raised include:
1. **Severe Water Crisis:** Students have no access to drinking water both on campus and in hostels amid Turbat’s extreme heat.
2. **Administrative Vacancies:** Key positions like Registrar, Director Finance, Controller of Examinations, and Pro-Vice Chancellor have remained vacant for years, contributing to mismanagement.
3. **Sewage Problems:** The campus’s sewerage system is reportedly in complete disrepair, affecting hygiene and sanitation.
4. **Scholarship Irregularities:** There are allegations of corruption and apathy in the management of student scholarships.
5. **Tour Fund Mismanagement:** The university administration has allegedly mishandled funds allocated for All Pakistan study tours planned for final-semester students.
6. **Neglect of Staff Association Demands:** Academic Staff Association’s concerns are also reportedly being ignored, further indicating administrative dysfunction.
The BSO Pajjar emphasized that they have been raising these issues persistently for the past three years and that their members have faced threats, blackmailing through grades, and even expulsion for voicing concerns.
The student group has extended full support to the demands of the University of Turbat Academic Staff Association and called for immediate reforms, warning of escalated protests if no action is taken.
