China’s “World’s Most Dangerous Café” Lets Visitors Drink Coffee 60 Meters Above the Ground

Islamabad (Qudrat Daily) – In China’s southeastern Fujian province, the unique and daring Gushi Cliff Coffee café may be the most dangerous coffee shop in the world. Perched nearly 60 meters above the roaring waves, it offers visitors the thrill of enjoying a cup of coffee while suspended on a sheer cliffside.

While sipping coffee is usually a relaxing experience, at Gushi Cliff Coffee it comes with an adrenaline rush. The café is built on a vertical cliff wall, 60 meters above sea level, and proudly markets itself as the world’s most extreme café.

The café consists of rectangular platforms securely bolted to the cliff, serving as seating areas for customers. To reach these platforms, visitors first traverse a 30-minute Via Ferrata trail, followed by a rope-assisted descent under the supervision of trained instructors.

Established in 2004, the cliffside café recently went viral as several videos showcasing its breathtaking location circulated on social media. Due to high tourist interest, the café’s founder emphasizes that advance reservations are mandatory, and no one may descend to the platforms without staff supervision.

A cup of coffee costs 398 yuan (about $58), higher than typical premium coffee prices. The cost includes mandatory insurance, professional climbing gear rental, and the instructor’s fee for lowering visitors safely. There is no time limit on how long visitors can remain on the platforms, allowing them to fully enjoy the extraordinary view.
