Seven More Outlaws Surrender as ‘Nijat Mehran’ Operation Continues in Ghotki

A joint operation by police and paramilitary forces, titled “Nijat Mehran,” is underway in the riverine border area of Ronti Katcha between Sindh and Punjab in Ghotki.
According to Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Ghotki, Anwar Khetran, continued pressure from the joint operation by police and Pakistan Rangers has led to the surrender of seven more proclaimed offenders belonging to the Shar gang.
The surrendered suspects were wanted in cases of murder, tribal clashes, and armed robbery. Those who laid down their arms include Asghar Shar, Abdul Latif Shar, Moor Shar, Baddo Shar, Nali Chugo Shar, Shah Bakhsh alias Shaban Shar, and Mumtaz Shar.
SSP Anwar Khetran said that during the 40-day ongoing operation, more than 75 proclaimed offenders — including several carrying head money — have surrendered to authorities.
Meanwhile, in the riverine forests of Khairpur, another wanted outlaw, Ali Ahmed alias Ahmado Narejo, who carried a bounty of Rs5 million, also surrendered as a result of the Nijat Mehran operation. He was reportedly wanted in more than 60 criminal cases.
