No Decision on Wheat Procurement Yet, Viral Video Is Old, Says Balochistan Food Minister Noor Muhammad Dummar

Quetta (Daily Qudrat) – Noor Muhammad Dummar, Provincial Minister for Food in Balochistan, has stated that the provincial cabinet has not yet made any decision regarding wheat procurement, dismissing a recently circulated video in the media as outdated.

In his clarification, Dummar explained that six months ago, 8,000 bags of wheat stored by the Food Department were auctioned due to fears that the stock might deteriorate. He said the proceeds from the auction were deposited into the provincial treasury. The minister further claimed that for the past two years, the department has not had a single grain of wheat in its possession.

He added that he had sent several procurement proposals to the cabinet but approval was not granted.

Criticizing the media strongly, Dummar accused certain outlets of misleading the public by airing an old video. He alleged that his political opponents, unsettled by his development initiatives, were attempting to damage his reputation by resurfacing the outdated footage.
