Pakistan Becomes First Team in T20 World Cup History to Play Six Spinners in a Single Innings

Islamabad: Pakistan made history in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup by becoming the first team to field six spinners in a single innings.

In the group-stage match against India, India set a target of 176 runs for Pakistan to chase, scoring 175 for 7 in their allotted 20 overs.

Pakistan’s squad included six spinners: Saem Ayub, Salman Ali Agha, Shadab Khan, Mohammad Nawaz, Abrar Ahmed, and Usman Tariq.

During the innings, Saem Ayub claimed three wickets, while Usman Tariq, Shaheen Afridi, and Salman Ali Agha each took one wicket. Additionally, one Indian batsman was dismissed via run-out.

This strategic deployment of six spinners marks a first in T20 World Cup history, highlighting Pakistan’s innovative approach to spin-heavy bowling attacks.
