NCCIA Tells Islamabad High Court Imran Khan Not Cooperating in X Account Investigation

Islamabad: The National Counter-Cybercrime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) has submitted a report to the Islamabad High Court stating that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan is not cooperating in the ongoing investigation regarding his X (formerly Twitter) account.
The report was filed in connection with a petition seeking the closure of Imran Khan’s X account. It provides the court with details of the ongoing investigations related to the social media account.
According to the NCCIA, two separate inquiries have been launched into tweets posted from Imran Khan’s X account. Both inquiries are currently pending at NCCIA, having been registered on May 19 and September 13, 2024.
The report notes that the NCCIA investigation team visited Adiala Jail multiple times in connection with the probe. However, the team was unable to determine who manages Imran Khan’s X account, as he did not provide any information or cooperation regarding the matter.
The NCCIA further stated that despite being questioned about the operation of his X account, Imran Khan refused to cooperate, which has delayed the investigation. The inquiry into the account remains ongoing.
