Balochistan CM Sarfaraz Bugti Abolishes Food Department, Launches Commodity Management Department

**Quetta, Balochistan:** Chief Minister of Balochistan, Sarfaraz Bugti, has officially dissolved the provincial Food Department and established a new **Commodity Management Department** to oversee essential commodities, price control, and consumer protection.

Under the new setup, the **Balochistan Food Authority** will operate under the Commodity Management Department, which will have the authority to regulate prices and curb hoarding. The restructuring is expected to save millions of rupees in government expenditures.

The Commodity Management Department will comprise a total of **974 positions**, with the Directorate of Commodity Management accounting for **625 of these posts**. The move aims to improve efficiency in commodity management while ensuring affordability and protection for consumers across the province.
