Quetta: PDMA Launches Rescue Operations in Kan Mehtarzai and Muslim Bagh After Snowfall, Road Clearance Efforts Underway

**Quetta:** On the special directives of Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti, Director General PDMA Balochistan, Jahanzaib Khan, visited Kan Mehtarzai and Muslim Bagh to review ongoing relief and rescue activities in areas affected by recent rain and snowfall.

Rescue teams briefed the DG PDMA that snow accumulated on major highways is being cleared at a rapid pace, while the Quetta–Loralai highway has been kept open for traffic. He said PDMA staff and heavy machinery remain fully active in Kan Mehtarzai and Muslim Bagh to restore roads, remove slippery patches, and ensure the smooth flow of traffic.

Jahanzaib Khan stated that in view of the recent rains and snowfall, machinery and relief equipment had already been dispatched to potentially affected areas on a pre-emptive basis to ensure a swift and effective response in case of any emergency. In Muslim Bagh, special operations are underway on the national highway to restore traffic disrupted due to icy conditions.

He further said that Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti has issued clear instructions for immediate relief operations and for providing maximum assistance to the public during the snowfall. In line with these directives, all relevant departments are on high alert and actively performing their duties in the field.

The DG PDMA informed the public that the PDMA control room is operational 24/7, continuously monitoring the situation and ensuring prompt action on any emergency reports. He urged transporters and the general public to adopt precautionary measures while traveling and to contact the PDMA control room in case of any emergency.
