PTI Leader Salman Akram Raja Urges Government to Change Approach if Serious About Dialogue

Islamabad: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Salman Akram Raja has called on the government to change its approach if it is serious about engaging in meaningful negotiations.

Speaking to Geo News at Parliament House, Islamabad, Raja said he had visited Mahmood Achakzai to congratulate him. He praised the recent speeches by Achakzai and Allama Nasir Abbas, describing them as historic, and said the opposition leaders had clearly highlighted the reasons for their stance and the path toward improvement.

Raja criticized the current governance, stating that the judiciary was being undermined and the parliament was being run in a manner unsuitable for the country. He added that Pakistan’s economy was in a dire state, with young people struggling to find jobs.

Highlighting recent protests, Raja said millions supported PTI in Karachi, but they were not allowed to access Bagh-e-Jinnah, and in Lahore, 800 people were arrested within two days during demonstrations.

Raja emphasized that for negotiations to succeed, the government must adopt a positive approach and stop using force, saying, “If you want dialogue, this approach needs to change.”
