ABAD Chairman Says Installing Fire Safety Equipment in All Karachi Buildings Within Three Days Is Not Possible

Karachi: Chairman of the Association of Builders and Developers (ABAD), **Muhammad Hassan Bakhshi**, has said that it is not possible to install fire safety equipment in all buildings across Karachi within three days, as the required equipment itself is not readily available.
Speaking about the **fire safety audit report**, which was released on Tuesday evening, Hassan Bakhshi stated that many of the buildings identified in the report are **30 to 35 years old**. He explained that most buildings constructed by ABAD members over the past **15 to 20 years** have fire safety measures in place.
However, he added that builders of older constructions have now been instructed to **ensure compliance with fire safety regulations**.
It is worth noting that the **Sindh Building Control Authority (SBCA)** had issued an ultimatum, directing that **fire safety systems be installed in all buildings across Karachi within three days**. According to SBCA officials, a formal letter conveying these instructions has been sent to the ABAD chairman.
