BAP Strongly Condemns Mahmood Khan Achakzai’s Statement on Separation from Pakistan

Quetta:Balochistan Awami Party (BAP) central spokesperson and former interior minister **Mir Ziaullah Langove** has strongly reacted to the statement made by **Mahmood Khan Achakzai**, in which he claimed that some areas could separate from Pakistan within four months.
In his statement, Mir Ziaullah Langove said that Mahmood Khan Achakzai’s politics has always revolved around **ethnic hatred, national division, and negative narratives**, which have neither benefited the country in the past nor will they bring any positive change for Balochistan or Pakistan in the future. He said Achakzai’s political thinking has consistently promoted hatred, prejudice, and instability.
Langove alleged that at times Achakzai incited hatred between Baloch and Pashtun communities, while at other times he poisoned the minds of Balochistan’s people against Punjabis. However, he said, Achakzai has never spoken about **national unity, brotherhood, or stability**. He added that politics based on division, separatism, and hatred may look appealing in dreams but has no reality on the ground.
The BAP spokesperson further said that in the recent elections, the people of Balochistan **clearly rejected Mahmood Khan Achakzai**. He claimed that without the support of **Nawaz Sharif and the PDM**, Achakzai’s party would have faced defeat. Now, he said, Achakzai is trying to prop up his declining political standing by leaning on **PTI and Imran Khan**, which itself reflects political confusion.
Mir Ziaullah Langove termed it “ridiculous” to dream of becoming the opposition leader on the basis of a single seat. He said the people of Pakistan, especially Balochistan, have become politically aware and understand that politics based on hatred, ethnicity, and division is destructive not only for the country but also for nations themselves. Slogans like **“Deh Chitral Deh Bolan”**, he added, have already been seen and understood by the public.
He said that dreaming is not a crime, but dreaming in broad daylight of scenarios that can never materialize is a sign of political immaturity. He questioned whether Mahmood Khan Achakzai even considers himself Pakistani, saying that such statements have made his patriotism questionable.
Referring to the year 2013, Langove pointed out that when Pashtunkhwa Milli Awami Party (PkMAP) was part of the Balochistan government, Achakzai’s brother served as governor, another brother as a provincial minister, and a cousin as chairman of the Public Accounts Committee, while party leaders held key ministries. At that time, he said, Achakzai regularly attended Pakistan Army events, praised the armed forces, and called them the symbol of Pakistan’s security and defense.
Langove concluded by saying that statements about separation from Pakistan are either a sign of **madness or a loss of sense**, and that this **double standard is now fully exposed before the public**.
