ANP Shows Strength in Chaman, Vows to Block Merger of Levies into Police

**Chaman (Daily Qudrat Quetta):**
Thousands of supporters of the Awami National Party (ANP) staged a massive protest rally in Chaman against alleged fake recruitments, power load-shedding, deteriorating law and order, and the proposed merger of the Levies Force into the police.
The protest began at various streets across Chaman city and culminated in a public gathering at **Bacha Khan Center on Trench Road**. Demonstrators carried placards and banners highlighting their demands and slogans.
Participants strongly condemned the worsening security situation in Chaman, unjust power load-shedding by the Quetta Electric Supply Company (QESCO), alleged illegal recruitments in the Levies Force, and the government’s decision to merge the Levies into the police, describing it as unacceptable and harmful to local law and order.
During the gathering, ANP leaders including **Central Additional Deputy Secretary Ubaidullah Ubaid, Abdul Khaliq Haqmal, Samiullah Ismat, Warakhta Gul, Jano Gul, and Zaman Dagar** addressed the crowd, asserting that the merger would have negative consequences for the region.
The leaders demanded that traders at the Pakistan-Afghanistan border be allowed to operate with ID cards and Afghan passports, that Chaman’s civic issues be addressed immediately, that roads be repaired, illegal recruitments be investigated, and unjustified power load-shedding be stopped. They warned that failure to meet these demands would lead to an expansion of the protest movement.
