Digital Publishers Forum Holds Key Meeting to Address Balochistan’s Digital Media Policy Concerns

Quetta:The Balochistan Digital Publishers Forum held an important meeting yesterday, chaired by Forum President Syed Ali Shah. During the session, concerns were raised over the provincial government’s failure to finalize the digital media policy.
The forum decided that its office-bearers would soon meet with relevant government officials to discuss issues related to the digital media policy. They also announced that the forum would present recommendations and proposals to ensure the policy aligns with current requirements.
The forum also deliberated on the new membership applications. As a result, the digital platform of Daily Al-Jazeera Quetta was granted membership, while other applications were postponed until the next meeting.
The forum urged Balochistan’s Chief Minister, Mir Sardar Fazal Bakhsh, and the government spokesperson to expedite the finalization of the policy. They emphasized the need for a transparent distribution of advertisements and called for the timely allocation of funds in the current fiscal year to address the challenges faced by digital media platforms in the province.
