PM Shahbaz Sharif Directs Distribution of Ramadan Package Aid via Digital Wallets Again This Year

Islamabad: Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif has instructed that the Ramadan Package aid funds be distributed through digital wallets this year, continuing the transparent system implemented previously.

During a review meeting on the Ramadan Package, the Prime Minister sought recommendations to further improve the program. He highlighted that due to corruption at utility stores, many deserving individuals were deprived of their rightful benefits. Last year, the government successfully distributed PKR 20 billion among 4 million families, with each family receiving PKR 5,000 through digital wallets, ensuring transparency and reducing misuse.

In a separate meeting, the Prime Minister also approved a national policy framework for reforms in the gems and precious stones sector, aiming to improve regulation and promote investment in the industry.
