ECP Issues Show-Cause Notice to KP CM’s Aide Shafi Jan Over Allegations on Haripur By-Election

Islamabad: The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has issued a show-cause notice to Shafi Ullah Jan, Special Assistant to the Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, over allegations made on social media regarding the Haripur by-election.

In its notice, the ECP stated that Shafi Ullah Jan alleged that Form 47 was issued from Islamabad and that Form 45 was not uploaded. The commission termed these allegations false, misleading, and unsupported by any evidence.

The notice further said that the statement appears to be an attempt to malign the Election Commission. Shafi Ullah Jan has been directed to clarify his position within seven days and present verified evidence in support of his claims.

The ECP warned that if no evidence is provided, it will conclude that the allegations were made without any factual basis. In such a case, the commission said it would initiate action in accordance with the law.
