Heavy Traffic Entry Banned in Karachi During Daytime Hours

Karachi:Authorities have imposed a ban on the entry of dumpers and heavy traffic into Karachi during daytime hours. According to an official notification, heavy vehicles will not be allowed to enter the city from 6:00 am to 10:00 pm.

The restriction on daytime entry of heavy traffic has been imposed for a period of two months. However, specific routes have been designated where heavy vehicles will still be permitted to operate to ensure smooth logistics and supply movement.

As per the notification, heavy traffic will be allowed to travel from the Super Highway to the New Karachi Industrial Area. Similarly, vehicles will be permitted to move from the National Highway to Godam Chowrangi, Younis Chowrangi, Dawood Chowrangi and up to Jam Sadiq Bridge.

In addition, heavy traffic will be allowed to use routes from the Northern Bypass to Pracha Chowk and Siemens Chowrangi, from the Northern Bypass to Gulbai, from Mauripur to Karachi Port, and via the link road from Kathore to Sassi Toll Plaza.

Authorities stated that the decision aims to reduce traffic congestion and improve road safety within the city during peak daytime hours.
