Pakistan and Tajikistan Agree on Cultural Cooperation Ahead of President’s Expected Visit

Islamabad: Ahead of the anticipated visit of the President of Tajikistan to Pakistan, both countries have agreed to formalize agreements to promote cultural cooperation.
Tajikistan’s Minister of Culture is currently on a special visit to Pakistan to mark the celebration of Tajik Cultural Week. During her visit, she met with Pakistan’s Minister of Information, Attaullah Tarar.
The leaders discussed bilateral cooperation, collaboration in digital media, strengthening media relations, and the preservation and promotion of shared literary and cultural heritage. Both emphasized enhancing cultural and media ties, as well as people-to-people connections between Pakistan and Tajikistan.
Minister Attaullah Tarar congratulated the Tajik Minister of Culture on the organization of Pakistan-Tajik Cultural Week and highlighted the centuries-old, deep historical and cultural bonds between the two nations. He stressed that Pakistan places great importance on cultural diplomacy.
He also noted the key role of digital media in fostering public engagement, cultural harmony, and positive narratives in today’s world. Tarar cited the poetry of Allama Iqbal as a symbol of intellectual alignment and mutual closeness between the people of Pakistan and Tajikistan.
The minister further said that the great Persian poets are held in high regard in both countries, and that Pakistan and Tajikistan are committed to preserving and promoting their shared literary and cultural heritage.
On the occasion, the Tajik Minister of Culture reaffirmed that Tajikistan will continue close cooperation with Pakistan in cultural exchanges and digital media, emphasizing that shared literary and cultural heritage will be highlighted to strengthen bilateral relations.
