NAB Launches Inquiry Into Alleged Billions in Corruption in Balochistan Health Department; Procurement Records Demanded

Quetta (Daily Qudrat) — The **National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Balochistan** has initiated an investigation into alleged corruption worth **billions of rupees** in the provincial Health Department, seeking detailed procurement records from major hospitals for the fiscal year **2024–25**.
According to official documents, NAB has directed the **Director General of General Health Services Balochistan** to submit complete details of machinery and medical equipment purchased for **Trauma Centre**, **Sandeman Provincial Hospital**, **Bolan Medical Complex**, **Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Hospital**, and **Bacha Khan Hospital Nawan Kali**.
The sought record includes procurement of **incinerators, angiography machines, mammography units**, and other medical instruments, to be submitted in the format provided in *Annexure A* by **December 19, 2025**.
NAB has requested this information under **Section 19 of the National Accountability Ordinance, 1999**, enabling the inquiry team to assess the role of concerned officers and staff, evaluate transparency in procurement processes, and investigate potential financial irregularities.
