LHC Criticizes Police Over ‘Empty File’ in Alleged Abduction Case: “You Know About Jinns, But Not Basic Documents?”

Lahore: The Lahore High Court (LHC) on Friday expressed strong displeasure over the police’s handling of a case involving a woman allegedly abducted from Kahna, stating that the investigation file presented in court was “empty.”
Chief Justice Aalia Neelum, while hearing the petition for the recovery of the missing woman, remarked that the police had removed important documents from the file. “This is the Chief Justice’s court, not a joke,” she observed. “Such non-serious officers should not be part of the police department.”
During the proceedings, the court questioned the petitioner’s lawyer about the absence of basic documentation. “Why didn’t you get the abducted woman’s ID card made? Present some documentary proof to show she is the petitioner’s daughter,” the Chief Justice said. She added pointedly, “You know that the missing woman was taken away by jinns, but you don’t know anything about the necessary paperwork?”
The court disposed of the petition while directing the police to submit a progress report within 15 days.
