KP Government Sets Up Registration Points for Undocumented Afghan Nationals

Peshawar: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government has decided to establish service points across the province for the registration of undocumented Afghan nationals. The new directives aim to ensure accurate data collection, organised processing, and provision of essential facilities at all registration centres.
According to the official notification, service points will be set up in all districts, staffed with designated personnel and equipped with basic amenities. Special counters will be established for women, children, and senior citizens to facilitate a smooth and respectful registration process. Security arrangements and public guidance desks will also be put in place.
The government has instructed commissioners and deputy commissioners to ensure that the data of undocumented Afghan residents is recorded correctly and verified thoroughly. Field officers have been directed to avoid harassment and unnecessary delays during the registration process.
For verification of non-national data, NADRA, the Home Department, and other relevant agencies have been directed to conduct biometric registration. A joint mechanism for data sharing and record updates will also be developed.
Additionally, the government has ordered the activation of a complaint cell and helpline to resolve public grievances related to the registration campaign. Daily, weekly, and final progress reports will be presented in review meetings.
NADRA and other institutions have been tasked with implementing an effective system for data collection and verification, while the Home Department and PDMA will ensure inter-agency coordination and security arrangements to complete the registration campaign in a transparent and efficient manner.
