Balochistan National Party Condemns Night Raids and Arbitrary Arrests in Quetta
Quetta:The Balochistan National Party has strongly criticized the desecration of sacred spaces with barriers and the arrest of youth from Baloch areas in Quetta under the cover of darkness. In a central statement, the party denounced the unjustified use of force, citing five recent operations that yielded no positive outcomes. They emphasized that oppression, excesses, and coercion cannot eliminate national aspirations.
The statement further highlighted attempts by the Baloch Unity Committee to disrupt the July 28 rally in Gwadar, condemning the raid and arrest of Bebo Baloch at Haji Abdul Rauf Kamberani’s residence, along with the arrest of her brother. Despite relentless efforts by Baloch mothers and sisters across various regions to peacefully protest and reclaim their loved ones, their voices remain unheard, perpetuating the cycle of disappearances.
The party’s leadership, including Sardar Akhtar Mengal, has remained steadfast in their decades-long struggle against injustice and coercion. They cautioned against the misuse of power, roadblocks on national highways, and the arrest of political activists. The statement concluded with a call for authorities to desist from using force and instead engage in dialogue to resolve issues, echoing their commitment to peaceful assembly and the recovery of missing persons not only in Balochistan but nationwide.
