Legal Noose Tightens Around Dumper Association President Liaquat Mehsud Court Orders Inclusion of Terrorism and Attempted Murder Charges

Karachi: The legal pressure on Dumper Association President Liaquat Mehsud has further intensified as a District and Sessions Judge directed the SP South to add Anti-Terrorism Act (ATA) and attempted murder charges to the cases registered against him.

According to police officials, the SP Investigation South has ordered the inclusion of ATA sections in two cases involving Liaquat Mehsud. The investigation officer was instructed to incorporate the relevant terrorism clauses and submit a challan under Section 173 before the court.

During the previous hearing, the court had rejected Mehsud’s interim bail, stating that evidence existed of firing and causing terror in the area. The court also instructed authorities to register terrorism-related sections in the case.

The incident stems from a fatal collision in Karachi’s Garden area, where a dumper truck hit and killed a citizen named Shahzaib. Following the accident, the accused’s guard allegedly opened fire on local residents, further escalating the matter.
