Restricting KP CM from Meeting Imran Khan Could Backfire, Says National Assembly Member Shahid Khatak

Rawalpindi (Qudrat News) — National Assembly member Shahid Khatak has warned that repeatedly preventing Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi from meeting former Prime Minister Imran Khan could prove detrimental, noting that the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa are already reacting to this restriction.

Speaking to the media, Khatak praised Khan’s tenure, highlighting his management of the economy during crises when previous ministers had admitted the country faced “minefields” that threatened governance. He added that under Khan, the economy stabilized during the COVID-19 pandemic, employment increased, and all major global economic reports were positive.

Khatak also pointed to improvements in security during Khan’s government, saying terrorism was significantly reduced, with no drone attacks, and tourism flourished. He emphasized that Chief Minister Sohail Afridi seeks guidance from a capable leader like Khan, but the repeated obstruction of their meetings undermines governance and risks public dissatisfaction in the province.
