Pakistan Wants Written Agreement in Pak-Afghan Talks, Says Defence Minister Khawaja Asif

**Islamabad (Qudrat Daily)** — Defence Minister Khawaja Asif has emphasized that Pakistan wants the ongoing talks with Afghanistan to result in a *written agreement* rather than verbal assurances.

Speaking to the media, Khawaja Asif stated that Pakistan requires no external guidance for the talks, which are essential not only for both countries but for regional stability as well. He added that if any cross-border aggression occurs, *Qatar and Turkey will act as guarantors*.

The minister’s remarks come after the temporary suspension of Pak-Afghan border talks following cross-border firing at the Chaman–Spin Boldak crossing. Negotiations were later resumed.

Pakistan has rejected baseless allegations from the Afghan side and shared *undeniable evidence* of ceasefire violations across the border with Turkish and Qatari mediators.

According to official sources, both delegations are currently in contact with their respective institutions. The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting confirmed that unprovoked firing from the Afghan side targeted Pakistani border posts, prompting a *swift and effective* response from Pakistani security forces.

Pakistan maintains that the ceasefire remains intact and reiterated its commitment to the peace dialogue, expressing hope for constructive cooperation from Afghan authorities.
