Imran Ismail Slams Current PTI Leadership: “No Strategy, No Vision—Only Personal Interests

Karachi:Former Sindh Governor **Imran Ismail** has launched a scathing attack on the current leadership of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), accusing them of having **“no plan, no direction, and no concern”** for the party’s founder, **Imran Khan**, who remains imprisoned.
Speaking to the media, Ismail said the **current PTI leadership is entangled in internal disputes**, focusing more on personal gains than on political struggle. “They are fighting over who gets to visit Adiala Jail instead of focusing on the party’s future,” he remarked.
He alleged that the leadership is **using Imran Khan’s imprisonment to advance their own political interests**, adding, “They have abandoned the founder while exploiting his name for relevance.”
Regarding his recent meeting with **Shah Mahmood Qureshi**, Ismail clarified that the visit was made out of **personal respect and admiration**. “I have also met other incarcerated PTI leaders,” he said, noting that the jailed leadership, including Qureshi, wants to **lower political temperatures** and engage in constructive dialogue with the establishment.
Imran Ismail emphasized that the PTI needs **a wise and unifying leader** to steer the party out of crisis, suggesting that **Shah Mahmood Qureshi, Dr. Yasmin Rashid, Ejaz Chaudhry, and Umar Sarfraz Cheema** represent the most capable leadership within the party.
“Shah Mahmood Qureshi could have been free — and perhaps even Prime Minister — if he had been willing to compromise,” Ismail added, praising Qureshi’s resilience and integrity.
