Kite String Claims Another Life in Lahore; 21-Year-Old Man Dies After Throat Slashed by Glass-Coated String

LAHORE: Another tragic incident of **kite flying** turned deadly in the provincial capital as a **21-year-old man lost his life** after a **glass-coated string slit his throat** in the **Nawan Kot area**.
According to **police sources**, the victim, **Nauman Yousaf**, a resident of **Mozang**, was returning home on his motorcycle when a stray kite string wrapped around his neck.
**Hospital officials** confirmed that the young man suffered a **deep neck injury** and succumbed to his wounds **on the way to the hospital** despite rescue efforts.
Police said that **Nauman was a medical sales representative**, the **eldest son** in his family, and the **sole breadwinner**. He is survived by his **younger brother and two sisters**.
Taking notice of the incident, **Inspector General Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar** sought a **report from the Lahore Capital City Police Officer (CCPO)** and directed the **DIG Operations** to **arrest those involved in illegal kite flying**.
Meanwhile, **Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif** expressed **deep grief and anger** over the incident, extending **condolences and sympathy** to the bereaved family.
She also **ordered immediate action** against those responsible for the illegal activity and **demanded a detailed report** from the **CCPO Lahore**.
