ATC Issues Third Non-Bailable Arrest Warrant for Aleema Khan, Orders Her Arrest

Rawalpindi: An anti-terrorism court (ATC) in Rawalpindi has issued a third non-bailable arrest warrant for Aleema Khan, ordering police to arrest and produce her before the court on **October 22**.
The hearing, presided over by ATC Judge Amjad Ali Shah, pertained to cases filed against Aleema Khan and 10 others over a protest held on **November 26**.
Due to Aleema Khan’s continued absence, the court issued her non-bailable arrest warrant for the third time and also issued similar warrants for her surety, Umar Sharif. The court directed the Rawalpindi police to ensure her arrest and appearance at the next hearing.
Ten other accused in the case were present in court, along with five prosecution witnesses who appeared with case property. The court also instructed the Deputy Commissioner of Rawalpindi to verify property documents submitted by Aleema Khan’s guarantor.
A heavy contingent of female police officers was deployed outside the court before the hearing. The prosecutor informed the court that Aleema Khan’s bail would be revoked due to her non-appearance.
Meanwhile, the defense counsel argued that the arrest warrants were “illegal” and that a unilateral indictment against Aleema Khan was unlawful. He further stated that the inclusion of terrorism charges had already been challenged in court, which has admitted the petition for hearing — making any indictment premature.
