Sindh High Court Issues Notices to Governor Sindh and Wife Over FIR Plea

KARACHI: The Sindh High Court has issued notices to the Governor of Sindh, his wife, the Deputy Commissioner East, and others on a petition seeking the registration of a criminal case against them.
A two-member bench headed by Acting Chief Justice Justice Zafar Ahmed Rajput heard the plea regarding the registration of an FIR against the governor, his wife, and other officials.
The petitioner’s counsel argued that the petitioner’s under-construction house in Gilani Railway Society, Gulshan, was demolished by the Deputy Commissioner East, police, and railway authorities at the behest of the governor and his wife.
He further stated that a lower court had dismissed the plea seeking registration of an FIR against the governor and others, urging the High Court to order police to file a case against the Governor Sindh, his wife, DC East, railway officials, and SSP East.
The government lawyer contended that the demolition was carried out due to illegal construction on government land.
The Attorney General, Advocate General Sindh, and TMC Gulshan’s counsel Salman Sabir also submitted their powers of attorney.
Acting Chief Justice Rajput remarked that the counsels for all parties had filed their authorizations and that the court would hear all sides at the next date. The court issued notices to all respondents, seeking their replies by **November 4**.
The petitioner, Fouzia Nasreen, had earlier filed a petition under Sections 22-A and 22-B in a lower court, which was dismissed.
