54 Traffic Accidents in One Day on Balochistan Highways Leave 74 Injured, One Dead

BELA: Fifty-four traffic accidents were reported on Balochistan’s highways in a single day, leaving 74 people injured and one dead, according to official figures.

The accidents occurred on various national highways and roads across the province on September 12. Medical Emergency Response Centers (MERC) 1122 Balochistan said trauma centres set up along provincial highways provided immediate medical aid to the injured.

According to the daily report, the highest number of accidents — 24 — was recorded in the jurisdiction of Trauma Centre Zhob, in which 35 people were injured. Thirteen accidents were reported in the area of Trauma Centre Khuzdar, where 13 injured persons received treatment.

Five accidents in Winder, Lasbela, left eight people injured. Three accidents in Saranan, Pishin, injured four people, two accidents at Ziarat Cross, Pishin, left six injured, and two accidents at Cattle Farm, Jaffarabad, injured four people.

One person was killed in a traffic accident in Liari, Lasbela.

MERC 1122 said that on September 12 a total of 54 traffic accidents were reported at various centres across the province. Medical assistance was provided to 74 injured persons, while one death was recorded.

The rising number of accidents on national highways has spread fear among the public.
